Some people have asked me to make a reassurance notice about what is going on. Some people may think the end of the fish is here, and maybe for them it is. For me though, I will keep working on things at my pace.
I do not have time to spend every waking minute in second life like I used to.
I’ve recently upgraded the VPS the fish are served by to twice the size, and moved the market database off to a managed database to try and make things run a bit more smoothly - an extra US$100 a month - something I wouldn’t have done had I been planning to quit.
The fish weren’t ever meant to be this big, they are a simple breedable, and were designed as such - they were meant to be something you could do while at auctions and markets while shopping for other breedables - but they took off.
There are currently 48 species of fish, each species has it’s own mesh and it’s own customized version of the scripts. There are currently 2129 different fish you can breed, and I have more waiting to upload.
Custom fish have been on hold for a while now, as I am struggling to keep up with ordinary fish - but I hope they will come back eventually. Rezzing fish food vendors etc, is something that is difficult, needs to be coordinated and is low priority - people can buy fish food at lots of places.
Tank scripts is something I’ve been keeping on top of, if you’ve had to wait more than a couple of days then chances are your message got lost - so message again.
Finally, I am continuing to work on rainbow reef, I’ve implemented a ticket system, and Opal has rezzed mailboxes, and any things they can’t sort out are forwarded to me.
