As you may have noticed some people reporting their fish are eating to quickly. This has been happening on regions with heavy loads causing messages to be duplicated. It is an SL issue, but one now that it has been identified can be mitigated against.
The solution is an updated tank script that keeps track of when fish eat, and if messages come through less than an hour apart, they are ignored. Testing on this has been positive, and it looks like this fix works.
Now, the fun part… updating tanks. Tanks are not updatable, and so will need to be replaced, particularly for those who experience this issue. New tanks were placed in the vendors earlier today, and a snapshot of everyone’s transactions (via L$ or chum points) has been taken.
Custom tank scripts have also been updated, and custom tank creators are urged to use the new scripts in their creations from now on. (Custom tank creators can get the new scripts by hitting one of the redelivery boards in the main store.)
Keep in mind, existing tanks, in normal circumstances will continue to work correctly. If your region is not overloaded, you should be able to keep using these tanks just fine.
If you have purchased tanks from me, either by chum points or L$, you can touch the Tank update request board at the main store to request to have all your tanks replaced. As tanks purchased from me are no transfer, you get to keep the old ones too. (The new ones have V2 in the name). As you can imagine, this is going to be a long process, and may take some time to get to you to replace your tanks, so priority will be given to those who are losing food due to the SL issues.
Please be patient with me, and the CSRs, we are aware of how inconvenient this is, and are doing our best to work through this issue in a way that ensures you do not lose anything.
As for custom tanks you may have purchased, this will be up to the creator whether they issue updates or not - as the tanks work fine in normal circumstances.
